Jenna Sudds replaced Coun. Marianne Wilkinson in the Oct. 22 municipal election, with a more than 1,000-vote lead on Matt Muirhead.
The former executive director of the Kanata North Business Association campaigned on three main priorities: transportation, the growth of the Kanata North community, and job growth in the region’s technology sector. Sudds is one of seven new people elected to Ottawa council.
Longtime Kanata North councillor Wilkinson, who will be retiring, endorsed Sudds for the position.
Across Ottawa, Jim Watson will return for a third term as mayor, with more than than 70 per cent of the vote.
