Two leading business women from Kanata North took to print recently to share their thoughts on best practices in the workplace. 

Amy MacLeod, chair of the KNBA board and vice-president of strategic communications at Mitel published a piece with Lead magazine – a publication geared towards women in leadership roles. In the piece MacLeod shares her journey of becoming Mitel’s first corporate diversity officer. As she approaches her one-year anniversary in the role, she writes of her struggles with adapting to the position and understanding the importance of diversity in all its forms.

Thusha Adgampodi, engineering manager at Magnet Forensics was also featured in the magazine. She took the opportunity to share her experience of building a top talent engineering team here in Ottawa. Included in her reflection was tips for hiring, such as examine your process, identify any bias and respect how others work.
