Local video production technology powerhouse Ross Video has officially hit the 1,000-employee mark with the acquisition of Miami-based video streaming software company Primestream.

The acquisition was a natural fit for Ross Video, which provides high-end video production equipment and services for live events all over the world.

Primestream enables users to streamline editing, newsroom metadata logging and control room playout as well as seamlessly share, edit and review content, bolstering Ross Video’s existing production offerings.

“The combination of Primestream MAM and media tools plus our world leading automation, graphics and powerful newsroom computer system tools is extremely enticing and will provide customers with a truly world-class, end-to-end integrated Media Asset Management solution,” says David Ross, CEO of Ross Video, which has a presence in Kanata North.

Primestream is the 17th acquisition for Ross Video since 2009, and marks a special milestone for the company.

With the new addition of the 30 staff in Miami, Ross Video has now hit the 1,000 employee threshold – a goal Ross first set out to achieve in 2020 when he began ramping up hiring and R&D in Kanata North, posting nearly 200 jobs in the National Capital Region.

“Acquisitions have played an important role in our success and this acquisition – our largest to date – will be no exception, I’m sure,” he adds.
