KRP Properties, the property manager of several office buildings in the Kanata North Technology Park  launched its first 1st Annual youCANhelp campaign in the KRP headquarters at 555 Legget Drive. A fundraising initiative for the Kanata Food Cupboard, the project involved teams raising funds to purchase non-perishable food and hygiene products, to design and build sculptures made from those products.

KRP had reached out to their tenants to assist in the initiative.  Embotics Corporation, Iceberg Networks, Investors Group, IQVIA, Technology Integration Group, Payment Source Inc. and Syntronic Research and Development all came together to produce 7 unique sculptures, equating in a donation of approximately 5,400 lbs. of food to the Kanata Food Cupboard.

Creative Fundraising

It was a fantastic #youCANhelp event! The sculptures as shown in the photos below, were highly creative making the judging very difficult, as all teams did a great job!

The Winners

Winners were presented with a trophy in a variety of categories. Congratulations to all the winners: Embotics Corporation with “The Embotics Candroid” (Structural Ingenuity award), IQVIA with “Mmmm So Good” (Most Original award) and Technology Integration Group Canada with “e-LEMON-ators Pie” (Most Appetizing award).

The event took place from May 9th to May 11th this year and came at a time when the food banks across the city are generally very slow and in need of more donations.

KRP thanked all the teams that participated in the event and for raising funds and food for the Kanata Food Cupboard. A special thanks went out to ASAPpm, who donated the trophies, and Mastermind Event Rentals for providing the safeguarding stands.

KRP Properties hopes to make this an annual event with each year growing in participation. So, stay tuned for #youCANhelp 2019!
